Lane Change Assistant

Lane Change Assistant Systems

Radar sensors are monitoring constantly the blind spots of the rear view mirrors. In case of an intentional lane change, the lane change assistant gives out a warning signal to the driver, when a potentially dangerous vehicle in the blind spot is detected. The Doppler effect helps to determine the differential speed of the vehicle in question.

For calibration of these systems, Doppler generators (on the picture shown in red) are positioned behind the vehicle, in plain sight of the radar sensors.   As a positioning system for the Doppler generators, our trusted gantry construction is employed. The vehicle is either aligned by a centraliser, or its position is measured with help of VisiCon dPP 3D-sensors.
