VisiCon DigiCam 4.2
VisiCon was the first company to develop and implement digital image processing equipment in headlamp aiming machines, which is commonly used today. The cameras we employ for headlamp aiming tasks, are designed and built by VisiCon, in order to achieve the shortest measurement and alignment cycle times available on the market today.
The DigiCam 4.2 is equipped with selected CMOS sensors 1280 x1024 @ 60 fps that offer a high dynamic range at low noise levels. Certain image processing routines are implemented into the camera itself (FPGA-technology). This enables the complete system to perform even complex image processing routines at an accelerated rate.
The bidirectional data transfer is carried out via standard-Ethernet cable (CAT5 or higher). The DigiCam 4 is available in black and white and colour. High-quality lenses and filters from renowned manufacturers are perfecting the VisiCon camera packages.
The functions available within the DigiCam 4.2 are controllable remotely by means of a versatile set of commands. That way, exposure time, gain, etc. are easily controlled by external systems.
Besides the image itself, the camera delivers on demand internally computed values to the external system, for example the maximum intensity. The cameras are addressed individually, so several cameras are able to operate in a network.
