About VisiCon

VisiCon was founded in 1990 and since then has grown to approx. 80 employees. The headquarters of our company is located near Göttingen, in the community of Gleichen. In May 2017, we also opened a branch office in Shanghai to meet the growing demand for our products and our reliable local service. Independent of this, we deliver our products worldwide and commission them directly at the customer’s site.

Initially known primarily for headlight adjustment, we now support the complete development of new headlight types: from production facilities at the headlight manufacturer to adjustment systems and audit stands at the vehicle manufacturer. Today, our name also stands for the highest quality in the development and production of wheel aligners and calibration systems for driver assistance systems. For example, our dPP probes work reliably at more than 800 wheel aligners worldwide.

In addition to personal advice, our service also includes the supply of spare parts, repairs, maintenance and measurement of our systems as well as software updates.

About VisiCon 1
About VisiCon 2

Foundation and first product

After setting up the German subsidiary of the Swedish company Selcom, which specialized in optoelectronic measurement technology, and working as a freelancer for Brunk Systemberatung (BSB) in the automotive industry, Wolfgang Brunk founded VisiCon in 1990. Using an innovative camera system and software-supported image processing, he developed the first product, the µP200q, a solution for automatic headlight adjustment in final car assembly.

About VisiCon 3

LCS probe

The advantages of software-supported image processing were gradually transferred to the development of products for non-contact wheel alignment: the first Delta LCS laser light section sensor was created in 1997 and was successfully used by various vehicle manufacturers. The product stands out in particular due to its large measuring range and the ability to perform complex operations such as the continuous differential image method directly in the probe using the unique integrated image processing (I² P).

About VisiCon 4

New headquaters

After nine years, the office space in the original company building became too small and the company was also looking for a way to assemble the machines close to the site. A suitable building was found in the neighboring town, and after extensive renovations, VisiCon moved to its current headquarters in Rittmarshausen in 1999.

About VisiCon 5

LCS-3 probe

The LCS-3 probe, a further development of the LCS probe, was launched on the market in 2002. In addition to the advantages of its predecessor, it also offered the possibility of measuring different rim diameters in mixed operation. An innovative mirror system improved the path for the transmitting and receiving beam, resulting in a shorter and more intensive laser line and a larger measuring range. This represented a clear advantage over competitor products, some of which had to be manually readjusted for large rims.

About VisiCon 6

dPP probe

VisiCon’s most outstanding product is the dPP probe, developed in 2006, which has established itself as the gold standard for non-contact wheel alignment in the industry. The laser measurement probe works according to the principle of stereophotogrammetry: the measurement object, which is illuminated with numerous laser lines, is recorded from different angles by two cameras. A 3D model of the illuminated tire is created from up to 40 images per second, which is then used to calculate chassis parameters such as toe and camber. To date, almost 4000 dPP probes are in use worldwide.

About VisiCon 7

Assembly hall

In order to prepare for larger engineering projects, a new assembly hall was added to the company building in 2012. An overhead crane and a rail system embedded in the floor facilitate the assembly and partial dismantling of the machines for transportation to our customers.

About VisiCon 8

Wheel aligner

In addition to the development and production of measurement technology for wheel alignment machines (WAM), VisiCon began to establish in-house production of complete WAM systems in 2014. The combination of a test stand and an extensive selection of non-contact 3D probes as well as the VisiBalance steering wheel measuring scale has since enabled us to offer a comprehensive and reliable system from a single source. In combination with our VisiWheAl measurement and analysis software, all relevant chassis parameters can be determined quickly and precisely.

About VisiCon 9

VisiCon China

To expand both the sales and service of our measurement technology in Asia, a branch office was opened in Shanghai in 2017. This branch works closely with our headquarters in Germany and takes care of all regional matters. Regardless of whether electric or conventional combustion engines are involved, VisiCon products are increasingly being used in vehicle production in the Far East.

VisiCon Laserbox Lichtbild

VisiLaserWall

The VisiLaserWall introduced in 2018 represents a revolution in headlight auditing. The innovative concept consists of two compact boxes that make it easy to check the headlight settings on production lines. Each box is equipped with a green laser for projecting the cut-off line and a red laser for referencing the optical axis of the headlight to be checked. The boxes are placed between the centered vehicle and the projection screen and are conveniently controlled by remote control.

About VisiCon 10

New building

A new, modern building complex was constructed in 2019 due to the company’s growth. This offers sufficient space for several departments in the additional office space created. In addition, a modern kitchen and a cozy lounge were set up for the employees. During construction, the focus was on energy-saving measures, such as the use of an air-conditioned ceiling instead of a conventional heating system.

About VisiCon 11

VisiScan

Our latest milestone in the company’s history is the development of the VisiScan 3D laser sensor, which sets new standards in the precise, simultaneous measurement of toe, camber and wheel arch edge height while simultaneously saving cycle time thanks to automatic measurement range identification. Four laser scanners selectively illuminate the metrologically relevant areas only, such as the tire sidewall and the wheel arch edge, while rims and gaps between rims are not detected. This prevents the worker from coming into contact with stray light, and the sensor offers comprehensive optical protection during wheel alignment. Highly reflective rims also pose no problem.

What VisiCon stands for

Icon quality

Quality

At our headquarters in Germany, we develop and manufacture products that are characterized by maximum precision and reliability. They undergo strict quality controls and thus guarantee a long service life. Our ISO 9001 certification means that our QM system is regularly reviewed and adapted.

About VisiCon 12

A large part of the available roof area is already equipped with solar panels. The system has an output of 100 kWp, or 90 MWh/year. Further roof areas will also be fitted with solar panels in the future for sustainable electricity generation.

About VisiCon 13

The company fleet includes both fully electric and hybrid vehicles. To charge the vehicles, 8 electric charging stations have been installed, which are available to our employees and are powered by the solar system. The purchase of a hydrogen filling station is also being planned.

Further concepts

  • VisiCon is working in close cooperation with “CO2 Plan” to become climate-neutral.
  • The new building is equipped with a solar-powered air-conditioning ceiling. Depending on the season, this works with hot or cold water and is much more efficient than a conventional air conditioning system.
  • The long-term plan is to switch from the existing oil heating to a water/water heat pump. This type of heating would mean potential Co2 savings of around 60 %.
